Amy, who was born in Puerto Rico and grew up in New Jersey, was raised around a family of backyard farmers who always had a productive backyard farm of an assortment of fruits and vegetables. Amy’s family instilled in her the value of growing and cultivating your own healthy produce with values of consistency, patience and the joy of sharing healthy, delicious foods with your family.
Amy has such fond memories as a girl, walking on her parent’s property, harvesting and eating the ripe fruits and vegetables right from the garden. The meals her family prepared were truly farm to table, before that was even a trend. And when Amy spent time with her grandparents and extended family in Puerto Rico, as well as her aunts and uncles in Florida, she was able to experience her multi-generational family’s love of farming, as she enjoyed her family’s tropical fruit trees and local vegetation as ingredients in favorite Puerto Rican dishes and desserts.
Taking those lessons of her childhood, Amy always took the time to establish a backyard farm wherever she lived, and shared those lessons with her family, as a wife and mother. As a hobbyist farmer, she passed that love of growing healthy, organic food she inherited from her mother, on to the next generation with her five children, ages ranging from 20 to 33 years old. Her passion for growing healthy, beyond organic food to feed her family, has now inspired her to share those healthy & delicious foods with your family.
